VO 2014 Atlanta Scholarship — Call For Applicants

Apply By January 20, 2014!

The VO Peeps, along with Gerald Griffith of Voiceover City and the LA/OC chapter of the Media Communications Association-international is pleased to announce a call for entries for the VO 2014 Atlanta Career Education Scholarship. The Scholarship Program provides both need and merit-based scholarships to working voice-over artists, as well as those new to the business.

Two (2) Grand prize Scholarships to be awarded to two lucky people announced LIVE at the January VO Peeps Meetup on January 25! 

VO 2014 Atlanta is the largest voiceover conference in the southeastern United States. The conference features leading experts in the field of voiceover along with talent from all around the country.  VoiceoverCity, LLC wants to welcome you to VO Atlanta 2014 and is excited to bring this event back for a 2nd year after a stellar showing in March 2013.  And they are coming coming back even stronger with a wonderful list of speakers, another voiceover contest, panel discussions, exhibitors, networking opportunities, and so much more.

Brad Hagen Recovering from Brain Surgery

Long-time MCAI member Brad Hagen, (he joined when it was the old ITVA) and OC media industry leader (he's a past president of the Media Alliance) is now home, recovering from recent surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor. Brad, who started Video Resources Inc. in 1979 and built it into a major production company with offices in Santa Ana and Boston, is known for his generous and fun personality as well as for being a creative producer and successful businessman. As you can imagine, dealing with the shock of finding a tumor and the surgery has been difficult for both him and his family— as well as his extnded family at VRI. Your good wishes, support and prayers will be appreciated. His wife, Tracy, has started a journal online at the Caring Bridge website which allows you post messages and donate as as well as see recent photos and get updates on Brad's progress.

MCA-I's Walter Davis to Present at DV EXPO!

Among the noted speakers at this year's Digital Video Expo will be Walter Davis, president of the LA/OC Chapter of MCAI. An expert in social media and dynamic speaker, among other things, Davis will be presenting 120 Significant Social Media Facts and Figures. Entries Now Accepted for 45th MCA-i Media Festival

MCA-i's annual Media Festival returns for its 45th year and is accepting entries now until December 15, 2013. Content producers, fimmakers and media professionals in every specialty particularly enjoy the peer-reviewed festival because the top awards are not limited in number. Meet MCA-I Member Jean M. Davis

Jean Marie Davis has been an entertainer for as long as she can remember; participating in choirs, performing on stage and singing with local bands. So you won't be surprised to know that three years ago she became a talkshow producer and more recently her own on-camera host. It was a natural progression for the affable Davis.
