MCA-I OC Chapter Board Thanks Davis and Slade with Shining Star Awards

Retiring members of MCA-I's LA/OC Chapter Board of Directors, Jean Davis and J.L. Slade, were thanked for their service to the organization and the Media Community at large by president Art Kirsch with a Shining Star Award. Their respective terms as members of the Board of Directors ended in June of 2015. "MCA-I is an all volunteer nonprofit," said Kirsch, "and it is only though the efforts of members like Jean and J.L. that we can exist and serve our other members and the media community. We can't thank them enough."

Jean Marie Davis is an internet talk show host and producer whose media career is gaining traction due to her bubbly and energetic personality. Jean joined the LA/OC Chapter of MCA-I to network with other professionals, learn more about the business and hone her on-camera skills. Besides serving on the board and guiding the chapter through a very successful year, Jean acted as Event Coordinator and volunteered as assistant to the treasurer. She has been very helpful at meetings often acting as greeter and purser.

J.L. Slade is an accomplished videographer who joined MCA-I as a newcomer to SoCal area looking to network with other professionals. She is known for her unique signature tool, the 'Mastcam' which she developed and built when she saw the need for an economical way to provide high shots to producers. Her company, Up There Video, provides this service (as well as videography at any height) to producers, sports teams and special events such as concerts all around Southern California. J.L. originally hails from Idaho where she owned and operated the most relied-upon aerial and ultra-large-format analog photographic lab in the state.

"We really appreciate the time and effort both these professionals have given to the organization," offered Kirsch. "Knowing Jean and J.L. and working with them on the Board to serve Southern California's professional media community has been a real pleasure for all of us. So we're very pleased to present them with our chapter's highest honor, The Shining Star Award for Outstanding Service."
