The new scholarship fund established by VO Peeps and the LA/OC Chapter of MCA-I has announced receiving its first donations.
“We passed the hat around at our last meeting and got a great response,” said Anne Ganguzza, founder of VO Peeps. “In terms of dollars it’s modest but it’s a great start for the fund.” The money was deposited in Feburary and Ganguzza hopes to award the first scholarship by May 2012!
Mark Alexander, President of MCAI LA/OC Chapter added, “It was about six months to get the fund organized and operating but now that we’ve got our first donation, I hope we’ll see a lot of growth. There is certainly a need for it in the voice-over community.”
The scholarship fund is designed to benefit working voice-over artists in times of need as well as those new to the business. Grants will be made on both need-based and merit-based criteria and may be in cash or product useful to a VO Professional.
“In order to make our first grant, the next step is to build up the fund. So I hope everyone will contribute something.” Said Ganguzza.
