The 2006 Newport Beach Film Festival (NBFF) Awards Show was an even bigger hit than the year before—thanks in part to the many members of MCA-I who volunteered to make it a reality.  For the second year in a row we organized producers, talent and camera crews that covered a week’s worth of festival activities then rolled a remote truck up to the awards night and produced the event for TV!  MCAI was one of the Award Night’s production sponsors. Now the show has been posted and is on the air!

Senior Producer, Gary Lycan, along with Co-Executive Producers and MCA-I members, John Coleman and Rick Sherman, worked with Adelphia Cable’s Production Manager, Erik Villesvik, also MCA-I to cut the show down to a 58 minute running time for TV.  With so much good stuff it wasn’t easy.   But Erik made the tough choices and retained all the best for TV.

The NBFF is a local event that has national exposure with positive results for all of Orange County.  With the participation of MCA-I under the leadership of the Media Alliance of Orange County the festival’s awards show has in two years gone from being an afterthought to a premier entertainment event.  MCAI members and all the other volunteers who gave so generously of their time and professional expertise deserve a big thank you! Be sure to watch the program — and stick around for the credits.  Erik says it’s the longest credit roll in television history!

The TV Special about the 2006 NBFF Awards Show airs on Adelphia Cable Ch.10 in Orange County every Wednesday in June at 9:00 PM and every Thursday in June and July at 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Lot’s of exposure! Thanks, Adelphia!

Also look for the program to air on OC’s only community-oriented, PBS station, KOCE in August. As they say, check the listings for day and times.
