The 60s Orange County Musician's Group is holding 'Reunion ll', sponsored by MCA-i. The group is made up of OC musicians who played here in the 1960's and includes everyone who played in a band, club or group in that decade. There are over 200 members many of whom are still working musicians and the group includes a few famous names such as Bill Medley (Righteous Bros) and Paul Williams (Grammy winning singer-songwriter) among others.
The event, "60's OCMG Reunion ll," is a two day festival in Garden Grove celebrating all kinds of music from classic rock to jazz, folk, etc. Stage, Lighting, and Audio are pretty much taken care of although they still need one 24-input mixing board and a drum kit. Many of the group's professionals are donating mixers, amps etc. Food will be available on site and if you volunteer, along with your Media Credential you will get a meal voucher for each day good for lunch and dinner. Parking is free but there is no pay.
We hope to have 12 cameras shooting 3 stages as well as roaming the crowd and backstage, working from 12 noon to 10 PM on both Saturday Aug 2 and Sunday Aug 3rd. You will be working as part of a large team and be assigned specific duties. There will be plenty of down time as performance stages are not going continuously and we have to schedule downloading of files to a common server.
We already have a number of people who have committed to shoot for one or both days but need more. Now is the time to clear your calendar and let me know for sure if you are going to be there for either one or both days. Also if you are interested in editing some of the scenes let me know your system, editing background and skill level.
Please let us know one way or the other. Let us know what kind of camera you have (tripod, batteries and extra cards will be needed as well) any other equipment you can bring, and any details about your availability.
Thank you for your interest. Like a lot of shoots, this one will be both a lot of work and a lot of fun. I hope you can commit to it.
