Meeting Recap - June 15, 2005

The June 15th MCA-I meeting, which was our annual drive-in movie night, was held in the parking lot at the Irvine Media Group where hamburgers and hot dogs were enjoyed by all who attended. The food was grilled to perfection, and it was a very relaxing informal gathering, which if anyone missed this year, you don't want to miss next year.
After welcoming everyone to the meeting, Vice President John Coleman introduced Donna Shirley, from Lantern Screen Products, Inc. She gave an excellent presentation of a portable table top rear projection screen which gives a corporate group sitting in a conference room a much clearer presentation than the average screen while they are using their own projector. It is used for power point and sales presentations, graphic analysis and teaching, department briefings, executive sessions and portfolio viewing. Needless to say, Donna captured the interest of everyone at the meeting.

Shining Star awards were presented to Susan Wilcox for her outstanding work on the Tuesday Blast, to Grace McKay for her great work on the website and also to Travis for his outstanding work. There were also a few non-members who received awards for their excellent work on the Film Festival crew.
Omar Guzman officially joined the chapter that evening as an Associate member.
The national winners of the video contest of the AIME awards were shown, and a video of the Sony HDV camera.
There were quite a few members who showed various clips of DVD's that they had produced. Among them were Beverly Turner, Rick Sherman, John Coleman, Gary Stone, Travis, Larry Goldsmith and Robert Sheridan.
Elections of new officers were also held.
Despite the rainy weather, it was a fun and informative evening for all who attended.
