About the Volunteers (Newport Beach, CA - April 2005) The some 30 volunteers working on The Media Alliance's Award Show for the Newport Beach Film Festival are all members of MAOC. The each work in such diverse but related fields as booking, on camera and voice over talent, videography, film and video editing, theatrical staging, music composing and lyric writing, graphics and the loan of equipment necessary to make this event possible.

MAOC President Rich Sherman is leading the efforts to create an extraordinary Awards Show. Sherman is a composer, musician, and recording engineer who owns and operates Sherman Sound Suite, located within the Irvine Studios complex. His company is one of the largest video production/post-production facilities in Orange County. The sound suite has been set up for a variety of functions, specifically including the composing and recording of original music for video and film (feature films, TV shows, TV commercials, infomercials, corporate videos, training videos, etc.), as well as providing sound design, sound effects, library music, voice-over recording, ADR (automated dialog replacement) and audio sweetening.

John W.Coleman, of the Creative Producers Group, is the executive producer of the awards show, leading the all-volunteer effort by members of the Media Alliance of Orange County. Mr. Coleman's company has offices in Los Angeles and Orange County and has produced programming for A&E, Fox Sports, and Spike TV as well as broadcast syndication. The Creative Producers Group was formed in 1990 and also produces commercials, marketing videos and multi-media for a variety of industries. Clients include Chevrolet, Chrysler-Dodge and Lexli Skin Care. A veteran with more than 25 years in television, he brings experience both as a program executive at three TV Stations and a producer-director of live events. Coleman is on the board of Directors of the Media Alliance and the Media Communications Association International that is also assisting the production of the award show.

LA actor/voice over artist Michael Villani will be the evening's MC. Michael co-starred with Robert Redford and Michelle Pfeiffer in "Up Close and Personal," was featured in "Volcano" with Tommy Lee Jones and "Wag the Dog" with Robert DeNiro and Dustin Hoffman. He co-starred as Merv Griffin in the Milos Forman film, "Man On The Moon" and the Andy Kaufman story, starring Jim Carrey - and is appearing in Jim's blockbuster "Bruce Almighty". Commercially, Mike is the national spokesman for DiTech.com and was the international "voice" for Warner Brothers Television - just to name a few of his many credits.
