JUNE 2007 MEETING - RED CAMERA ATTRACTS MANY
The June meeting was hosted by Brad Hagen and Video Resources in Santa Ana. The presentation was attended by a large and enthusiastic crowd.
Dennis
Backer welcomed all and described MCAI and advantages of joining it. Dennis introduced
Gary Stone who talked about upcoming programs in the months ahead and mentioned
our website as a way to find all information about MCAI events.

Backer returned to the podium to mention that all members should fill out the
ballots that were handed out at the entrance. Dennis introduced Tina Wilson who
also talked about the ballots and the official name change of ITVA to MCAI.
Wilson introduced Brad Hagen of Visual Resources who briefly talked about his
company, which has been in existence since 1979.
Hagen then introduced Ted
Schilowitz, who spoke about the new groundbreaking Red Digital Cinema camera
which is based in Orange County. The long presentation was very well received
and included a gorgeous video produced by Peter Jackson (of Lord of the Rings
fame) that showcased the camera.
A
second presentation by Roland Wood and Keith Hatounian on the new Final Cut
Studio 2 which can edit video from Red camera among other new advances. The
presentation was fairly detailed and of much interest to the audience.

Backer announced the ballot results and introduced the new chapter officers.
The included: President - Tina Wilson, Vice President - Omar Guzman, Treasure -
Emmet Kesel and Secretary - Erik Villesvik. Board members at large are Rick
Sherman, Patricia Shanks and Tom Duncan.
After
giving out some wonderful door prizes the meeting was adjourned.
