filmmakers who want the richness of film without the cost, this
presentation will demonstrate how to deliver rich HD projects on a
limited budget. Los Angeles-based independent filmmaker and author Jacob Rosenberg
will discuss a variety of workflows for projects originating on film,
HD or HDV, and will showcase projects including his own film, December Story.
Also on the bill, JVC Professional Products West Coast Mgr, Steve Milley, will be presenting practical tips on using the new JVC HD cameras.

For his film, December Story,
Jacob Rosenberg utilized Adobe OpenHD technology in creating an
HD-friendly 2K master (DI - for film print and HD distribution).
Whether you shoot on film or not, getting acquainted with the potential

platform Adobe Production Premium software will help you produce a more
cost-efficient and future-proofed project. The discussion will also
include a breakdown of the latest HDV formats and cameras and discuss
output in DVD, Blu-ray and Flash Video Content

or Flash Video content. In this session, learn the ins and outs of
Encore CS3 and understand how to create a wide variety of authored
media from a host of different source formats. From HD Blu-ray disc
creation to interactive Flash files for the web, see how to harness
your skills with Photoshop and After Effects to increase your
productivity with Encore CS3.
Jacob Rosenberg is
a filmmaker and published author who continues to push projects through
the bleeding edge of technology. Recently, Jacob wrote and directed the
short film December Story, which he is
currently pushing through a powerful digital intermediate process,
utilizing HDCAM SR as his digital negative for Telecined Super16 film.
Jacob has worked on a myriad of technical High-Definition productions
ranging from a direct-to-disk HD music video to the independent feature
film, Dust to Glory, which combined nine
different formats into one HD master. Jacobs independent sensibility
and vast knowledge of the digital landscape allows him to help
filmmakers and production houses find post friendly low cost, high
quality workflow solutions for finishing feature films on affordable
desktop computers.
