Five of Orange Countys most talented music composers for Film, TV & Video will join together on one panel to talk about the magic behind what they do and give practical tips for producers, directors this is a must for anyone in production. Join us at Studio 949 in Irvine and meet OC composers whose work covers a spectrum of musical creativity.
Joe Alfuso ( www.alfuso.com ) is a composer, arranger orchestrator and conductor whose work youve heard in feature films such as The Perfect Storm and George of the Jungle. If youve been to Universal Studios or any Disney Park from Tokyo to Anaheim youve heard his music.
Bob Stewart is the owner and CEO of Stewart Sound, Orange County's largest audio post production facility. ( www.stewartsound.com ) Among Bobs credits for music composition are a Telly Award-winning TV spot for Arizona Federal Bank, featuring actor Leslie Nielsen, a jingle for the Orange County Fair and original music for the Lincoln-Mercury "Road Show" campaign. He also won an Emmy Award for music he composed for the documentary "Transitions Throughout The Lifespan" ON KOCE-TV.
Mike Licari ( http://www.licarimusic.com ) has won 4 Emmys and 2 BMI awards for his work on Guiding Light, and has been nominated 11 times for As The World Turns, Another World, Sunset Beach and Outstanding Original Song in 1994. He has composed and produced music for over a hundred infomercials and commercials and is currently working for Discovery and Universal Music. Mike plays jazz bass and keyboards for a couple different bands.
MCAIs own Rick Sherman will moderate the panel as well as being one of our featured speakers. Ricks company, Sherman Sound Suite, ( www.ricksherman.com/index2.htm )
located in the Irvine Studios production/post-production complex, does original music scores for advertising clients, video producers, feature films and shorts. Rick composed the promotional music and provided all the audio post for Colorblind, an award-winning documentary soon to be broadcast nationally on PBS. Hes won numerous Cindy and Golden Angel awards for his original music for Century 21 Real Estate and The Von's Companies, provided all the original music for the Ditech.com national TV spots for 7 straight years, as well as hundreds of TV spots for Dashers and General Insurance. Rick composed the theme song used for "Real Orange", airing on KOCE-TV every week night.

From the 405 exit on MacArthur and head east/north. Cross Main St and go past Skypark E. Turn left onto Redhill and take the first left into Skypark N (opposite Mitchell) and turn right into the first parking lot just before you reach Skypark Circle drive. As you enter the parking lot immediately turn right again heading pack toward Redhill. Follow the parking lot around the buildings to your left as you turn parallel to Redhill and look for #17895. From the East take the 5 to the 55 heading toward Newport Beach.
