New HDV camera from Canon Featured at MCAI February Meeting on 15th

Media Communications Association International (MCA-I) OC/LA Chapter president John Coleman announced that the new Canon XLH1, their first High Definition (HD) cam, will be featured at the group's  February meeting on Wednesday evening, the 15th of the month. Catch a demo and explanations of operation and technology of this advanced new camera. We'll talk about editing questions, frame rates, choices of resolutions, integration to various editing platforms and workflow as well as how the XLH1's unique full resolution Hi-Def output is suitable for digital intermediate and film-out.

Guest speaker, Tim Smith, Canon Video Training Mgr., will present the new camera which started shipping only 3 months ago, and answer all your questions. Tim will also have with him an independent filmmaker who has used the camera and will share the results of his real-world experience with the XLH1.  We'll have actual production footage and screen it at different frame rates to see the different looks available.  If you're an independent filmmaker, producer, director, cinematographer, art director, gaffer or anyone interested in obtaining high quality visual images at a reasonable cost, you can't afford to
miss this meeting!
