President’s Farewell-Bill Ennis

It's hard to believe, but it's time to put me out to pasture. No, I'm not retiring - that day will come when they put me in the ground! But, effective July 1st, 2010, I'm officially being drummed out as MCAI OC/LA Chapter president.

Fortunately for the chapter, a younger, stronger man is taking my place, so our efforts and accomplishments can only grow richer as we move forward.

Mark Alexander will be leading the LA/OC Chapter as president in 2010-2011, with a well-seasoned Board of Directors at his side. I know Mark will drive our chapter to new heights, as we gain traction from our new 501c3 status. As we move forward, we'll continue to leverage our successful programs, including our monthly learning events and our MediaProCamps, to develop exciting and relevant New Media activities. Look for more synergistic opportunities with related organizations, while expanding our reach into the Southern California business community.

It has been a real honor to serve the membership and the greater media community that MCAI supports. I want to thank the chapter's board of directors and all the numerous volunteers who made my job fun and worthwhile.

As a lifetime member of MCAI, and now as one of the past presidents of our local chapter, I don't intend to stay in that pasture. I plan to stay active and involved as we begin this new fiscal year. I would also highly recommend you consider taking advantage of the many leadership opportunities available within the organization. It's a great way to develop and enhance your leadership skills, put your personal fingerprint on programs and contribute ideas that can help move this group forward - and it's a great way to build relationships with your peers in a growth-oriented, non-threatening environment.

I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event! --Bill
