Our organization is a non-profit entity organized to educate media professionals and the public at large about one of the most important industries affecting all citizens: Media. News, information, business, entertainment, education, communications and much, much more are delivered through an ever expanding plethora of media. Through lectures, meetings, mentorship and events about the Media Industry we help everyone understand and stay at the top of an ever-changing, highly competitive industry. Our regular meetings feature industry experts sharing cutting edge information in technology, creativity, business marketing, etc. As a non-profit CA corporation and an IRS approved 501c3 charity, we serve the general public and professionals working in every area of the media. Our mission is to be a resource for anyone interested in professional media, the regional media community and society at large by providing information via various events, the internet and other initiatives.
We are a relatively new organization, created by respected industry leaders with, among other credits, being the first to produce the famous interactive gathering known as MediaProCamp. Our website, www.SoCalMediaPros.org offers media news, information and opinion and is designed to be a central point of reference. Our newsletter, the BLAST reaches over 1,000 people across Southern California with an average of 10 to 20 issues a year. We also run a Meetup Group of the same name which we use as outreach to promote events and educational gatherings. Our non-profit volunteer organization takes a leadership role working with professional media organizations, businesses and civic groups in Southern California, often bringing the public and Media Professionals in the area together for events, roundtables and/or good works.
Our service to the community depends on the number of good people who join us to help. Please join us as a Supporting Member. Go to: http://www.socalmediapros.org/join or click on the Join Today icon in the right column of our front page.
