MCA-I PRESENTS the A.S.C.

A Special Evening with Cinematographers

ASC Members are Cinematographers—the visual guru’s responsible for some of the world’s most beautiful, evocative photography in cinema and television. They are both technical and creative masters who help the director capture a vision. The ASC (American Society of Cinematographers www.theasc.com) has agreed to bring as many as three of their most accomplished members to the MCAI January meeting to talk about their craft, working with directors, production designers and making great movies.  This is an evening for professionals and fans of film alike, so bring your friends!

Because of the top cinematographer’s busy schedules we will be able to publicize beforehand who our ASC speakers will be, but you can be sure it will be an evening you will not want to miss! Who might be there? Well, some of the names we’ve been throwing around are…

(Cinematographers listed alphabetically)
Thomas E. Ackerman (Scary Movie 4)
Michael Ballhaus (the Departed)
Don Burgess (My Super Ex-Girlfriend)
Russ Carpenter (Titanic)
Caleb Deschanel (Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ”)
